Hi, I'm Shelley!

I'm a fun-loving, creative, and enthusiastic teacher with a love for teaching, storytelling, and making learning an exciting adventure!

With a Bachelor's Degree in Foundation Phase Education, an Honours Degree in Psychosocial Education, 11 years of classroom teaching experience, and 3 years of online teaching experience, I've dedicated my career to helping students of all ages learn, grow, and discover their incredible potential.

My love for reading, teaching children to read, and storytelling has also inspired me to become a children's book author! I believe that books have the incredible power to spark imagination, inspire curiosity, and transport readers into magical new worlds. Nothing makes me happier than helping students discover the joy of reading and develop a genuine love for learning.

In my classroom, you can expect plenty of smiles, laughter, creativity, and encouragement! I believe students learn best when they feel happy, supported, and confident enough to give things a go, even when something feels challenging.

With my background in psychosocial education, I understand just how important emotional well-being, confidence, and individuality are to the learning journey. Every student is unique, and I love finding creative ways to bring out the very best in each of them.

When I'm not teaching, you will probably find me with my nose buried in a good book, dreaming up new adventures for my children's stories, or spending quality time with my loved ones and my precious little dog!

My teaching philosophy is simple: Every student deserves to feel capable, confident, and excited to learn. I firmly believe in quality over quantity, focusing on meaningful learning experiences that build understanding, encourage progress, and celebrate every achievement, big or small. And if we can have lots of fun along the way, even better!

For me, teaching is about so much more than lessons and textbooks. It's about inspiring curiosity, building confidence, and helping students discover what they're truly capable of.
